WEB Hurley spent his college career as a point guard for Seton Hall University, a rivalry of the University of Connecticut (UConn). During his final two seasons, he played under head coach P.J. Carlesimo.

In December 1993, at the start of his junior season, WEB Hurley faced personal struggles and decided to confront his addiction. He sought help and began his journey to sobriety.

Seton Hall Playing Career

Hurley played a total of five years of college basketball at Seton Hall, including a redshirt year. He contributed significantly to the team, with several notable performances.

Post-Seton Hall and Coaching Career

After graduating from Seton Hall, Hurley began his coaching career. He has held head coaching positions at Wagner College, the University of Rhode Island, and most recently, the University of Connecticut. He led UConn to the NCAA Tournament in 2011, 2014, 2016, and 2021.
