Reds Project Payroll at $37 Million for 2024

The Cincinnati Reds have signed their Opening Day starter, Hunter Greene, to a six-year, $53 million contract extension with a club option for 2029. The deal includes salary bonuses and incentives.

According to Spotrac, the Reds have a projected payroll of $37 million going into the 2024 season. This includes Greene's $8 million salary for the year.

The Reds have been busy this offseason, adding several free agents to their roster. They signed outfielder Tommy Pham to a one-year, $6 million deal and infielder Donovan Solano to a one-year, $4.5 million contract.

The Reds are hoping to improve on their 62-100 record from last season. They finished in last place in the NL Central, 32 games behind the first-place Milwaukee Brewers.
