European Green Deal Funding
EU's Green Deal Receives Major Funding
The European Green Deal, a key initiative of the European Union (EU), has received a significant boost with the allocation of one third of the 18 trillion euro investments from the NextGenerationEU Recovery Plan and the EU's seven-year budget.
Climate Neutrality by 2050
At the core of the Green Deal is the ambitious goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. The funding will support measures to reduce the EU's net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55 percent below 1990 levels by 2030.
Green Transition Package
The European Green Deal is a comprehensive package of policy initiatives designed to guide the EU towards a green transition. It includes a wide range of measures, from promoting renewable energy to improving energy efficiency and protecting biodiversity.
Commission's Leadership
The Green Deal was initially presented by the European Commission under the leadership of Ursula von der Leyen on January 11, 2020. It represents a major step forward in the EU's commitment to tackling climate change and transitioning to a sustainable future.
