LSU Wins 7th National Title in College World Series
Tigers Defeat Florida 18-4 in Game 3
LSU baseball team bounced back in Game 3 of the 2023 Mens College World Series finals to win its 7th national title.
The Tigers defeated the Florida Gators 18-4 on Monday night in Game 3 of the College World Series championship series to win the baseball national championship.
LSU scored 10 runs in the first three innings and never looked back. The Tigers' offense was led by Cade Doughty, who went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Tre' Morgan also homered for LSU, and Dylan Crews drove in three runs.
Florida starter Brandon Sproat was pulled after just 2 1/3 innings, allowing nine runs on nine hits. The Gators' bullpen was unable to stop the bleeding, as LSU scored nine more runs over the final six innings.
The victory gives LSU its seventh national championship in program history. The Tigers are now tied with Texas for the most national titles in college baseball.
Florida baseball can secure a second national championship in program history with a win Monday night in Game 3 of the College World Series.
